Baby Whip
Four ingredients. Skin that stays soft and calm.
Made for the most absorbent skin in the house. Nothing your baby's body has to figure out.
What you'll notice- For diaper rash
- Gentle on eczema-prone skin
- Softens dry patches
- Made for new skin
- Zero fragrance
- No honey
A baby's skin is thinner than yours and absorbs everything at a higher rate. Tallow is the closest thing in nature to the fat in their own skin. Their body knows how to use it. No synthetics, no fragrance, no honey, nothing for their system to process. Made by parents who couldn't find anything clean enough for their own kids.
Tallow · Jojoba oil · Olive oil · Beeswax
Four ingredients. That's the whole list.
What each ingredient does8.45 fl. oz — enough to use daily without rationing it. Most tallow body butters are 2oz.

What we left out — and why
Most baby products aren't as gentle as they seem.
Here's what you'll find in nearly every baby cream, lotion, and wipe on the shelf — what those ingredients are actually doing, and why we won't put them in ours.
Common flagged ingredients
Fragrance
One of the most common causes of skin irritation in conventional baby formulas.
On a label, "fragrance" can legally cover dozens of undisclosed scent compounds. Infant skin is 30% thinner than adult skin and absorbs more per pound of body weight. Mild reactions in adults can show up as more pronounced irritation on newborn skin.
Parabens
Synthetic preservatives that keep water-based lotions from spoiling. Restricted under EU cosmetic regulations for baby products.
They're used in conventional formulas because they're inexpensive and extend shelf life. We don't need them — our formula is water-free, so there's simply nothing to spoil.
Harsh Detergents (SLS/SLES)
Can be harsh on delicate skin, leading to dryness and irritation.
Sulfates can disrupt the skin's lipid barrier — the layer that keeps moisture in and irritants out. On adult skin this leads to dryness and tightness. On delicate skin, the effects can be more pronounced.
Formaldehyde Releasers
Preservatives that gradually release formaldehyde, still permitted in U.S. baby products.
Ingredients like DMDM hydantoin and quaternium-15 are classified as formaldehyde releasers by the FDA. They're permitted in U.S. baby products. Several are restricted under EU cosmetic regulations. They appear under technical names that don't read like "formaldehyde" on an ingredient label.
Why this matters more for babies
Increased Sensitivity
Baby skin is 30% thinner than adult skin, which makes it more reactive. The fewer ingredients it has to meet, the less there is to react to.
Still-Forming Skin
A baby's skin barrier is still forming. What goes on the skin in those first months matters. That is the whole reason we kept the formula to four ingredients.
Added Fragrance
Synthetic fragrance is one of the most common irritants in baby products. It is added for scent, not for skin, so we leave it out of every tin.
Why Less Is More
Babies absorb more per pound of body weight than adults. The fewer ingredients in a formula, the less their developing system has to work with — which is why our ingredient list is four items long on purpose.
Most baby lotions need 20+ ingredients. We need four.
Water, Glycerin, Cyclomethicone, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Chloride, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Titanium Dioxide, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide
The highlighted ingredients on the left are the synthetic preservatives and fragrance most conventional baby lotions rely on — several of them restricted under EU cosmetic regulations. They're in the baby lotion most parents reach for without thinking twice.
Your baby's skin is different. The formula should be too.
Made simple, on purpose.
- Tallow matches the fat composition of a baby's own skin — it absorbs because their body already recognizes it, not because it's been formulated to penetrate.
- No honey, no fragrance. Honey isn't recommended for infants under one, and synthetic fragrance is one of the most common irritants in baby products. We left both out on purpose.
- No water means no preservatives — every ingredient in this tin is doing something for your baby's skin. Nothing exists just to keep the formula from spoiling.
From dry and rough to soft and settled.
What parents notice when they choose Baby Whip.
- A thick layer at the bedtime change means soft, comfortable skin to wake up to — the morning change is the part parents rave about.
- Dry patches and rough spots give way to soft, resilient skin that holds moisture through the day.
- You stop second-guessing what's on their skin. Four ingredients you can look up. Nothing hidden.
Soft skin. Calm skin. Happy skin.
Protects Delicate Skin
Tallow and beeswax create a breathable layer that seals moisture in and keeps irritants out. Not a synthetic film — a barrier that works with baby's skin, not over it.
Pure & Minimalist Care
Four ingredients. We left out fragrance, honey, and synthetic preservatives on purpose. What made it into the tin is there because it works on skin this delicate. Nothing else earned a spot.
Deep, Lasting Hydration
Tallow's fat profile matches baby's own skin sebum. Jojoba absorbs the same way. Both go where moisture is needed instead of sitting on the surface, so hydration stays put through sleep, play, and the next diaper change.
Naturally Nourishing
Tallow brings vitamins A and D. Olive oil layers in antioxidants. Jojoba keeps everything soft and easy to spread. A short, deliberate list — every one chosen for skin this new.
For every baby. At every stage.
Newborn or toddler, extra-sensitive skin or just a parent who reads labels — you're in the right place.
-
Your baby is brand new.
Newborns and infants
Newborn skin is thinner and absorbs more. Whatever you put on it matters more than at any other stage. Four ingredients, all organic, nothing synthetic. Gentle from day one — because we used it on our own children from day one.
-
Your baby's skin reacts to everything.
Extra-sensitive baby skin
Most "sensitive-skin" baby products still contain fragrance, preservatives, or synthetic ingredients that commonly trigger reactions. No fragrance, no masking agents, no synthetics of any kind. Four ingredients with nothing for sensitive skin to react to.
-
You read every label. And put most things back.
The parent who doesn't compromise
You've stood in the baby aisle and read ingredient lists that made you put every product back on the shelf. You know what parabens are. You know what synthetic fragrance hides. Four ingredients. Every one of them something you'd recognize without a chemistry degree. That's the whole list.
"My son's diaper rash looked calmer overnight. It was almost unbelievable"
Angie, mom of a 7-month-old
Who makes this
We got tired of reading ingredient lists we needed a chemistry degree to understand. So we made something different. Something with real ingredients we could actually explain. Every tin is still mixed, poured, and packed by our family. No factory. No middleman. Just us.

Pure Ingredients, Nothing Else
How to use
Less than you think. Every time.
-
1
Clean, dry skin
After bath or diaper change. Dry skin absorbs it fully and helps it go further.
-
2
Tiny amount, warm your palms
Baby skin is thin — a little covers a lot. Warm it briefly between your palms first.
-
3
Apply and press gently
Smooth over wherever skin needs it — diaper area, dry patches, rough spots.
-
4
Give it a moment
It absorbs slower than lotion. That's the point. Get them dressed and you're done.
Good to know
- For diaper rash, smooth a thin layer at every change. For overnight or long stretches, go thicker — enough that you can see a soft cushion of balm on the skin.
- For eczema-prone skin, use after every bath consistently. Give it a few weeks of steady use.
- Made simple, on purpose. No honey, no fragrance — gentle enough for newborn skin from day one.
- One jar lasts 1-2 months with daily use on a baby. Less than $1 a day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Baby Whip have any fragrance?
No, our Baby Whip is completely fragrance-free. We’ve removed all fragrances to make it as gentle as possible for sensitive baby skin, suitable for everyday use without the most common cause of irritation.
We don't use masking agents — synthetic compounds some brands add to make products smell neutral. No fragrance means no fragrance, nothing added to cover anything else.
Is this gentle enough for newborns?
Yes — it was designed for newborn skin. The formula contains no honey, no fragrance, no lanolin, and no synthetic preservatives — the four most common irritants in baby skincare. Parents have used it on newborn skin from day one. As with any new product, a small patch test is always a good idea.
Why no honey?
Honey isn't recommended for babies under one year old, and it's also a common allergen. It's not necessary for skin barrier function. We left it out so Baby Whip is gentle enough for newborn skin, not just toddlers.
Can I use Baby Whip for diaper rash?
Yes — the diaper area is where most parents reach for it. Tallow and beeswax melt into a soft, breathable layer right where skin meets a wet diaper. Jojoba and olive oil keep things from drying out. No zinc paste. No fragrance. No 20-ingredient label. Most parents end up keeping a jar right on the changing table.
Is it gentle for sensitive baby skin?
Yes — it was specifically formulated for the delicate and sensitive skin of babies. We removed honey and all fragrance to keep the formula as simple as possible for your little one. It's made with clean ingredients that nourish without introducing common irritants. The gentle formulation moisturizes dry, sensitive baby skin and is made for everyday use, even on the days skin looks a little red or rough.
We always recommend a small patch test before full application on newborn skin.
Why does my baby whip sometimes feel grainy?
Our body butter is made with simple ingredients and contains no synthetic preservatives. The grainy texture you occasionally feel is perfectly normal — it happens because the natural fats in tallow can crystallize at different rates and sizes during temperature changes.
We take great care during our melting and formulation process to minimize this effect, but sometimes it’s unavoidable due to the nature of the ingredients and their sensitivity to temperature changes.
If you notice a grainy texture, simply warm the body butter in your hands before applying. It will melt beautifully, absorbing into your skin to provide the same deep hydration and nourishment.
This texture is a sign of a pure formula — no synthetic stabilizers.
Can I use this on myself too?
Yes. The same formula is available in our adult body butters with the addition of honey and optional natural scents. Some parents use Baby Whip themselves, particularly those with reactive or sensitive skin who want the most minimal formula possible.
